The 15 September 2026 full release was more than a platform launch. Returning players should review their world settings, equipment plans and combat habits before resuming an Early Access checklist. The authoritative reference is Jagex’s complete 1.0 announcement; this page selects the changes that affect common guide decisions.
Crossplay and new platforms
The game launched on PS5, Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S, alongside PC storefronts. A host can enable crossplay when loading a multiplayer world; crossplay worlds appear in the world browser. Dedicated servers also have a crossplay option. Invite codes are shown in a world’s pause menu and entered through the browser. They grant access to a world; they are not item-reward redemption codes. Follow our crossplay steps for the distinction.
A new endgame region
Scorned Wilderness includes a Hub where building is allowed and a raid area where it is not. The Regicide quest and the Kuldra, God-Eater encounter were added for the full launch. New equipment includes Rune items, Black Dragonhide pieces and Ancestral gear. Jagex also introduced Wands as a faster, more mobile magic weapon type, trading some damage output relative to staves.
This is not a promise that every old route or boss tactic remains valid. The region index names officially documented areas without inventing coordinates or a complete raid walkthrough.
Combat and quality-of-life changes
Jagex describes a parry restoring 50% of maximum stamina and allowing an optional Visceral Attack. Special attacks now use a regenerating Special Attack Bar. Sprint attacks, some action-cancel options, camera behavior and quick-cast controls also changed. The building system received loading improvements, and the Storage Ledger can move carried items into linked chests that already contain matching stacks.
Earlier health changes replaced the Wardstone with Sanguine Urns that increase maximum HP by 10 for each unique urn used. Those changes matter when an old guide recommends obsolete health preparation. See combat in 1.0 for a focused explanation.
The Abyssal Whip moved
The old Bloodblight-era advice to make the final Abyssal Whip immediately is outdated. Jagex says the Abysmal Whip is the Power Level 4 interim weapon, while the masterwork Abyssal Whip reaches Power Level 7 after finding a recipe in Umbral Sands. The names are deliberately similar; check which one a guide means. Our gear progression keeps this difference explicit.
Return-to-game audit
| If your old guide says… | Check in the 1.0 game instead |
|---|---|
| “A world can never be crossplay” | The host now chooses crossplay when loading a multiplayer world; dedicated servers have an option too. |
| “The Wardstone is your health route” | The health rework removed it; unique Sanguine Urns add permanent maximum HP. |
| “A parry is only a defensive timing trick” | A successful parry now restores half of maximum stamina and offers an optional follow-up. |
| “A Bloodblight drop makes the finished Abyssal Whip” | Distinguish the PL4 Abysmal Whip from the PL7 masterwork Abyssal Whip and its Umbral Sands recipe. |
| “All of Scorned Wilderness is a base location” | Jagex separates a buildable Hub from the no-building raid area. |
The table is a filter for stale advice, not a complete reproduction of the official patch notes. The same notes also describe the Storage Ledger, movement and controller changes, new spells, and resource requirements for Rune-tier crafting. If a recipe or button prompt on this site conflicts with the current client, the client and latest official notes take precedence.
