Jagex announced that RuneScape: Dragonwilds would be available day one with Xbox Game Pass alongside the 15 September 2026 full launch. That announcement is a dated launch fact. Subscription libraries, territories and plan benefits can change, so the current Xbox catalog is the final check before buying a plan just for this game.
Game Pass is not the only way to play
The Jagex announcement also names PC storefront editions and the PlayStation 5 release. The full launch notice lists Nintendo Switch 2 and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store and Jagex Launcher as well. A subscription entitlement and a purchased copy are different access routes; do not assume a Game Pass subscription grants a Steam license.
Before choosing, check the platform’s live page for your country, current subscription tier, multiplayer requirements and whether the edition you want is included. We intentionally do not embed a fixed price or promise perpetual catalog availability.
Can subscribers play with friends elsewhere?
The full release added crossplay worlds and a dedicated-server crossplay option.
