Dragonwilds 1.0 added crossplay to hosted worlds and dedicated servers. The decision starts with the world host: Jagex says a player can choose whether to make a multiplayer world crossplay each time they host it. A crossplay-enabled world can then be found through the world browser. It is worth checking that setting again rather than assuming an older session’s choice persisted.
Hosting a world for friends
Load the multiplayer world and use the crossplay option described in the 1.0 release notes. Once in the world, the invite code is shown in the in-game pause menu. Share that code privately with the people you actually want to join. The official notes do not establish that codes are permanent or suitable for public posting, so treat one as an access token for the current world rather than as a collectible.
Joining with an invite code
Open the world browser and enter the invite code there. The same browser shows crossplay worlds. If you cannot find or enter the world, check the exact code, ask the host to verify the crossplay setting and make sure both clients are on a compatible current version. The join-server guide separates host-world problems from dedicated-server setup.
What the code does not do
Searching for “Dragonwilds codes” can lead to retail activation keys, giveaways or unrelated cheat pages. The official 1.0 feature is a world invitation, not a reward-redemption system. We have not verified any active promotional redeem codes and do not list invented rewards or expiration dates.
Dedicated servers have their own crossplay option. If you are the server operator, consult Jagex’s dedicated-server guide as well as the current 1.0 notes; older server instructions may describe a previous version’s limits.
Host and guest: one-minute checklist
| Role | Check in order |
|---|---|
| Host | Load the intended multiplayer world; choose the crossplay setting for this session; confirm the world is running; read its invite code from the pause menu. |
| Guest | Open the world browser; enter the host’s current invite code; check that the intended world appears; then attempt to join. |
| Dedicated-server operator | Check the server’s own crossplay option and version rather than looking for the ordinary host-world toggle. |
The 1.0 notes establish those controls, but do not guarantee that every network failure produces the same error message. If the code fails, ask the host for a fresh copy and verify the crossplay choice. If the world appears but connection fails, move to the server-joining diagnostics instead of repeatedly trying unrelated “redeem code” pages. Avoid posting a live invitation publicly unless you actually intend to admit unknown players.
